Effective Networking
This one-day course is for experienced leisure managers with considerable autonomy in their roles and is about developing personal networks to support both current and future work. Personal networks may include people in your own organisation, people you meet from other organisations and people you are in contact with over the phone or the internet.
The workshop will explore a range of methods for creating effective relationship with others and will help delegates to ensure that key members of their personal networks have an accurate idea of their knowledge, understanding, skills, abilities and experience and are aware of the benefits of networking with the delegates and their organisation.
Course outcomes
- Understand the benefits for individuals and organisations of networking;
- Understand the principles of effective communication and how to apply them in developing personal networks;
- Have knowledge of the range of communications styles and how people prefer to communicate;
- Understand the principles of confidentiality, and how to develop guidelines for exchanging information between individuals and organisations.
- Have knowledge of the range of methods for developing effective relationships with others in the work context and, where necessary how to end relationships which are no longer of use;
- Understand how to make active use of the information and resource gained through personal networks;
