The corporate graveyard is full of onetime leading businesses that lost their competitive edge by failing to keep current on their competitors and markets have become so competitive, understanding customers is no longer enough. The act of building competitive advantage many companies glean new insights and better understand of what they know and don't know and can drive their business and services to create a stronger market position.

This workshop aims to provide an understanding of why building a competitive market is important to the success of the business and provide support and practical examples in answering various questions like; where is ‘your’ company vulnerable to competitors? What business are ‘you’ really in? Is it worth spending time and resource on a weak area? What can ‘you’ capitalize on, improve, or eliminate? What do ‘you’ need to be monitoring more closely?

Learning outcomes
 

• Gain an understanding of the industry and the market in which the business operates, to support decision making about future development and growth
• By developing an understanding of competitors it will help support decisions around the products and services the business offers and create opportunities to provide better VFM to customers i.e. retention
• Develop the ability to make the right choices at the right time for the business to succeed by creating a unique selling point
• Develop the ability to identify the right team and the right tools to succeed in driving the business forward
