Win-win: negotiating for positive outcomes

As well as covering the basics of negotiation skills, this one-day course covers Principled Negotiation, a more advanced technique which seeks a 'win-win' for both parties.  The course also includes an introduction to personality profiling, body language and learning styles - which are vital for understanding the motivations of the other party.  The course is aimed at anyone who is involved in negotiations, big or small, formal or informal, from across the sport, aprks and leisure sector.

Course outcomes:

 By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Recognise a negotiation situation;
  • Understand how relationships influence negotiation;
  • Understand the problems with positional bargaining;
  • Know their own negotation style;
  • Understand the benefits of principled negoation;
  • Recognise different communication styles;
  • Know how to build trust;
  • Close the deal.
