Course outcomes

This course considers:

  • The detailed aspects of the Charities SORP;

A case study based on the Statement of financial activities (SoFa) of a leisure trust demonstrates best practice and we look at published examples of trust financial statements.

Should you attend this course?

This one-day course will suit you if you are an accountant who needs to understand the implications of recent charity law and taxation in both accounts preparation and in giving strategic guidance and advice to senior managers and Boards.  This course will suit you if you are a manager with responsibility for key operational or strategic decisions  within your organisation.  Experience of charity management is not essential - you will benefit if you have recently joined the sector from a senior position elsewhere and if you have long experience of charity.
