This two-day course introduces the candidate to the key legislation affecting the leisure industry and how this legislation should be implemented.
Syllabus:
A system for managing health and safety -
- Legal framework, criminal and civil law;
- Source of health and safety information;
- Law enforcement and compensation;
- Health and Safety at Work Act 1974;
- The 'Competent Person';
- New/expectant mothers and young employees;
- Control of hazardous substances;
- Personal protective equipment;
- Safety signs;
- Display screen equipment;
- Manual Handling;
- Fire;
- First Aid;
- Accident reporting and RIDDOR.
Who should attend?
The training programme is suitable for individuals employed within a variety of leisure organisations. The course is ideally suited for those with supervisory or management responsibility for health and safety, although is relevant to all those who need to understand more fully occupational health and safety. We ensure that the delivery of the course syllabus is relevant to all those who attend.

- Appreciate and implement an integrated system for effectively managing health and safety in the workplace;
- Understand and describe the legal system within the United Kingdom and sources of health and safety information;
